As of Tuesday, history for foods has been made which affects all those with food allergies.
The Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Modernization Act was signed by President Obama, which gives the Food and Drug Administration authority to impose rules and restrictions for preventing food contamination. The suggestion of food recalls is a thing of the past..now the FDA may order recalls, quickening the pace the product gets off the shelves.
This alone will help many people from becoming sick.
Although critics say this will increase food safety, it will also increase prices of foods.
I think this is a great moment for all of us with food allergies and I am thrilled the Food Safety and Modernization Act has been put into place. If it means avoiding rashes and hives, I am willing to pay the price.
